G Family: Waveland

What a rainy season (I know, this isn't the first time you've heard me say it)!  The G family originally scheduled for May 2nd, but we didn't get their pictures taken until the 20th!

Little O just recently turned 1 year and started walking, what a little princess in her pink fluffy dress!  Waveland was the perfect location for this little princess.  Walking along the cobblestone path and gardens made for spectacular images!  Take a peek!

Baby M: 6 months

Rain or shine we were going to get this session done!  Anybody who owns or works for a business that depends on the weather knows much work isn't getting accomplished this spring.  The ground was soggy, rain drops splattered on my windshield as I drove to their house.  Determined to get this session done, we settled for doing indoor.  I know, natural light is SO much nicer, but sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do.

Baby M was all smiles and even let me hold her while we figured out props and the perfect location!  Take a peek...I can't wait to see her in 3 more months!  :)

Brittany & Zach: Georgetown Engagement

"Whatever souls are made from, his and mine are the same."  - Emily Bronte

Do you have those friends you can lose touch with for years at a time, but once reunited you can pick up right where you left off?  That's how Brittany and I are.  We've known each other over 20 years - we were next door neighbors when I was 5 years old.  Oh the stories I could tell!  We would shower our mothers with silk roses and compliments in attempts to persuade them for a sleep over...play dress up and tea party with our dolls...when Brittany's family moved away, we would chase each other's car down the street waving good bye until we couldn't run any further...the good 'ol days.  :)

Brittany and Zach were so much fun to be around!  They are always laughing and smiling - finding the humor in any situation and cherishing the 'small things.'  I must say their session was quite a mood booster - smiles and laughs are quite contagious.  They met working the night shift at Amazon - Brittany taking on this second job to help make ends meet.  Work breaks lead to conversations and some mornings after work they'd head out for breakfast.  Knowing the job at Amazon was temporary, Brittany offered him a position at her full time job, EvoOrganic.  Working and laughing together on the job didn't have to end so soon!  :)

Brittany's favorite quote comes from Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights, "Whatever souls are made from, his and mine are the same."  See how it is incorporated into their session.  :)

Will: 2010 Senior

I was so excited to get a call from Will's mom - she found my ad on Southland's website.  To me, this is a big step - my first customer who isn't a referral!  Yay!

The weather lately has really put a damper on my business - one of the rainiest seasons has left me scrambling to reschedule with customers.  Luckily the rain held for Will - and with graduation right around the corner he has his images to include with graduation announcements!

You can tell Will comes from a family with a sense of humor - though it took a little while for him to loosen up, I enjoyed hearing about lacrosse, prom, his girlfriend (sorry ladies, he's taken), and the other end of year activities for seniors.  Will plans to attend to Transy in the fall.  I wish the future Pioneer all the best luck!

Nikki & Cole: UK siblings

I love siblings with matching names...my husband and his twin brother are Nathan & Nathaniel.  So when I when Nicole mentioned her brother's name was Cole, I just had to giggle...LOVE IT!

Nikki just finished up her senior year at UK and Cole will start his sophomore year in the fall.  They hail from Pennsylvania, so with mom and dad so far they wanted some nice pictures done of brother and sister that incorporated the campus.  Such a neat idea!  We had fun trekking across campus and swapping campus stories (my stories 5 years old). Enjoy!

The Big ONE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY R!

Birthday parties are supposed to be fun filled and exciting.  Don't get me wrong, this Go, Dog, Go! theme party for R's first birthday was first rate...but there was a twinge of sadness.  The sadness?  Not seeing Baby R's precious face every 3 months anymore.  :(  I've enjoyed watching him grow up - especially since he's so close in age to my lil guy.  Hats off to this family - they always keep me in mind when a photographer is needed.

Mama K did an awesome job with the decor and cakes!  The birthday cake and Poppies were hand made.  Check out the link - Mama K makes Poppies (when she's not being a teacher, wife and mama).  ;)  I was also reunited with an old college acquaintance - it was good to briefly chat about married life and their sweet baby girl to be!  :)  And kids running around, banging on toys, and helping Baby R open presents kept the place buzzing!

Happy Birthday Baby R!!
