Inspiration: Bubbles!

There are so many normal-everyday items that we can take for granted which will make for awesome pictures.  Especially with children.  I do believe I'll start a series of inspiration themed blog posts. 

My first inspiration themed photography prop would be bubbles.  We had one of those multiple Walmart runs the weekend we moved into our rental house.  Lightbulbs, box fan, bubble blower.  Bubble blower?  I don't remember adding THAT to the shopping list.  But that's what came home.  What I initially thought would be a waste of money and piece of cheap plastic turned out to be one of the best purchases my husband has made in our 4 years of marriage.  Because we now have these adorable pictures of our two year old son.

I should add a disclaimer that as a photographer, don't be mistaken that my children run around in their best clothes always ready for a photo op.  HA!  No, my son had a designated 'play clothes' drawer in which I don't care what happens to those clothes.  Seriously, this is what I put on him everyday....and for some future posts you'll completely understand.

This month's mini session will be a little urban.  The Opera House offers a classy brick background.  The stores of Victorian Square offer storefronts with wainscoting, red brick archways, and the Explorium offers a variety of solid color brick walls.  Wear your fav summer outfit with accesories that POP with color.  This may be your last chance to snag those pictures before the weather turns cool!  Or go for the neautral tones to compliment the wainscoting and classic brick of the Opera House.  This location is best for individuals, couples, and groups no larger than 4 people.   I have some props on hand and will share with those who sign up.  amanda.mitchell08@yahoo.com to sign up.

Miss B's ONE!

This was Miss B's last session from her Baby's First Year Package.  I'm just a tad bit sad that I won't see her every 3 months anymore.  :( 

We did our session at Willow Oak Park (located behind Boston Rd. Kroger).  Miss B's mama envisioned a bridge for this session...there are lots of bridges around town to choose from, but I thought this little bridge was perfect for this pint-sized birthday girl! 

No 'smash the cake' with this session - little miss had absolutely no interest in getting down and dirty with the confections during her three parties!  But we still captured some cute giggles and smiles!

Solid wood, heirloom rocking chair...this thing was h-e-a-v-y...and I think the price scrawled on the bottom of the chair was $8 and some change...now this chair has some history to it!

Miss K: 9 months

A gorgous early June evening was in store for this cutie's 9 month old session.  As a side note (if you haven't been following my house-living-where-abouts drama) ALL of my chair props are in storage, but luckily I had a small wicker rocker which I stowed at my parents house when Nate and I were married (and all my beautiful wicker furniture had to find a new home...but I wasn't ready to part with it yet)!  Whew....it saved the day for sure! 

I can't believe her 1 year session is just around the corner!  I have two other baby-package customers and all three kiddos will turn one around the same time. Time for me to get my hind end in gear and paint that high chair I scored from a garage sale and make my rag-tie backdrops....so much to do!  We'll see if it gets done!
